As identified by the Charles Koch Institute, once an individual reenters society, their likelihood of becoming a contributing member of their community is dependent on whether they can secure meaningful employment, find a place to live, and have the education and skills necessary to advance in life. We have certainly seen that in the military veteran community – it was only a few short years ago where employers were concerned about hiring veterans due to unfounded concerns about PTSD, and the veteran unemployment rate was significantly higher than their non-veteran counterparts. Through education and strong coalitions, veteran employment is now celebrated and has been “normalized”. In fact, because of the technological tools and resources we utilize at JobPath, in 2018 we helped over 16,000 veterans and military spouses find new careers. And now, we have 200,000 active jobseekers on our platform at all times, as well as thousands of employers who want to hire them.
